If you don’t have automatic shutoffs, your phone’s alerts might not get your attention (particularly if you’re sleeping) and you want to be sure to be notified of any leaks.
YoLink makes a siren (about $30 on Amazon), which can produce an audible alarm up to 100 db loud (very similar to a smoke detector).
You add it to your system the way you normally do, but you do need to tell the YoLink system to play the siren (just adding it is not enough):
- Go into Settings/Alarm Strategies
- Choose Default (or Always, whichever has your devices)
- Click “Edit”
- Click “Trigger Actions”
- Click on the “Siren Alarm” button.
- Click “Confirm”, and then “Save”
Now, when a leak happens, you’ll hear the siren in addition to getting alerts on your phone.
As always, it’s a really good idea to test this to be sure it works!
